Central Transportation Systems was originally founded as Central Forwarding in Waco, TX over 90 years ago. What started as a single-truck, family-owned operation has grown into one of the largest and most trusted moving companies in Texas. About Our Management
Wanda Martin - Administrative Assistant of CTS Waco
After graduating from high school, in my anticipation of looking for a job, a family member knew of a position that was going to be open in the Waco local Office. I was offered the job and began what is now accumulated to my 41-year journey in the moving and storage business! I also attended night classes at and earned an Associate’s degree in Business along with my real estate license in order to broaden my scope of education. I love my position as Administrative Assistant here in the Waco office, and enjoy photography and arts & crafts. Spending time with my husband and family is a top priority and even though I’m getting closer and looking forward to retirement- I’m sticking to my statement that I’m still not old enough!
Richard L. Pearson - VP & General Manager of CTS San Antonio
I’ve been working for Central Transportation Systems for close to 30 years with a couple of grace periods in between. I actually started out in the moving and storage business as a mover/packer along with a few side odd jobs to pay for college at the University of Texas, and was even a driver for a season. I moved to San Antonio in 1999 I took the position of General Manager here at Central and I’ve been enjoying the ride ever since!
Mike Garcia - VP General Manager of Scobey San Antonio
I have been with Scobey since January of 1999. What started out as a summer job, turned into my lifelong career. I have primarily worked in operations as a local and long-haul dispatcher, I managed a domestic freight forwarder, dabbled in claims/ agency relations and now find my greatest adventure in my current position as General Manager. As a military brat, I spent the first 17 years of my life moving every 2 ½ years and have lived in Okinawa, France, Missouri, Illinois, Tennessee and Texas several different times. I was born in McAllen, Texas and returned to San Antonio, Texas and get to call this city home, for good.
Melissa Correa - Assistant General Manager of CTS Austin
I have been in the moving business since I was 19 years old, straight out of a business college looking for a job. A relative of mine worked with another van line in Texas and brought me in. I began as an auditor and then became the office manager. Throughout the years, my heart was always drawn to work at Central. I began with Central in July of 1997 as a move coordinator and the rest is history- I have been with the company for just over 20 years and I’m grateful for every one of them!
Jim French - VP General Manager of Scobey San Antonio
My career with this company actually began on April fools day in 1980, making 38 years here at Scobey Moving+ Storage. I actually started out working for another van line in 1967 after college, and have been playing mover ever since! This line of work is a lifestyle I’ve known for years and I enjoy every bit of it.
James Welch - VP General Manager of CTS Austin
I started in the moving business with my Dad after he retired from the Air Force as a Lt. Coronal. I was in school in Colorado and he would pick me up each summer and we’d run 48 states together until he dropped me off at the beginning of the Fall semester. I moved to Austin in 1977 and started at the University of Texas while working part time at the local Mayflower agency, and I never left the business after that! As a military brat I was born in Nagoya Japan and moved around a lot, so I can relate on a personal level on how important a quality moving service is.
Harley Pena - Ops Manager
I started working with Scobey in 1994 and never looked back. I began my journey with a cleaning service in the warehouse and throughout the years was promoted because of my work ethic. I love this workplace and how easy it is for everyone to get along, everyone is a team player and does their part to keep the workplace a great one. Scobey is my second home now, and I enjoy this family just as much as I do my own.
Doug Shifflett - VP of CTS Killeen
I have been with CTS for over 34 years. After graduating from UT Arlington, I came home to Killeen and interviewed with Frank Espinola at Central Transportation Systems- the rest is history as I never left! I enjoy the work, the people and the experiences, it’s never a dull moment around here.
Christopher Morris - VP Assistant General Manager of CTS Waco
I have been with Central for over 14 years and worn many hats- I spent 3 years in records, 10 years in dispatch and operations, over a year in sales, and 6+ months now as branch manager. Life here in Waco is made complete by my wife, 10-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter, who often join me in supporting our Baylor Bears. Sic’ Em!
Gloria Lucero VP General Manager of CTS El Paso
I started working for this Company in 1986, tallying up 31 years of dedicated service with Central! Over the years of growth with this company, I now run the El Paso branch and love the challenge. Every shipment is different and requires a dedicated team of people. From Sales, to Managers, to Movers we all play a vital role in accomplishing a job well done. On my free time I like going fishing and camping with husband and two boys who are now 26 & 29 years old.
